In reply to Liz. Hi Liz! It depends on the type of cocoa powder that you use. If you use a lighter brown color cocoa powder, then the cookies will turn out lighter. If you use a darker brown color cocoa powder (Hershey's special dark), then the cookies will have a darker hue. What brand did you use?

I triple checked all the ingredient and they didnt turn out chocolate but light brown

I wondered if I could leave this dough to chill overnight? Also do you have the metric conversion as I’m in the UK and don’t want to mess up the conversion and ruin the cookies.

This question is not quite on point but here goes.

Might you have any ideas how to use peanut butter instead of chocolate? I’ve looked online and have not found anybody addressing this idea.

I’m not the greatest chocolate fan except only as an accent flavor. I prefer savory flavors to sweet even in cookies and ice creams. If you’ve ever visited the Salt and St ice cream shops, you’d see what I mean their special flavors.

I’ve made many of your Levain Bakery recipes and they been wonderful and popular with my friends and family so I thought you might be a good person to ask. Also, you’ve noted in another recipe that your husband is fond of peanut butter cookies.

What do you have for a lemon cookie in the same vein as the Levain cookie style? Big, puffy, soft, and lemony?

I’m trying to understand why cut cold butter if its going to end up creamed with the butter? Why not start with room temp butter?
